Or just ask a plastic cutting shop to do whatever you want.

Mine cut the designs out of red sticky plastic so the body colour shows through...it seems to have started a slight trend here.

It's the first time I've used plastic, normally I just paint the design on as here on my Caterham SV

Plastic is good as less permanent. Heat it with a hairdryer and it's easy to peel off if necessary.

Paint is more versatile but requires some skill and understanding of the materials.

I always fancied trying a multicoloured candy flame job on a bike, so I did one on my dirt-track Harley-Buell XR 750 'replica'.

I quite like the result.. though local council workers managed to knock me off it in June last year.

They'll pay for it...I was damaged, the bike escaped with minor damage and the paint wasn't touched.
