Locking Wheel Nuts

I took the wheels of my 'black' today to give them a good clean and realised that the key for the locking wheel nuts is larger than the other nuts (meaning the supplied wheel brace will not fit it). This means that if I was to get a puncture out on the road I would not be able to change the wheel. I know I could call out the RAC but I shouldn't really have to do that.

Perhaps it's worth asking whoever supplied the locking wheel nuts(was it the dealer,are they Toyota ones?) to comment on this.

Who knows,you may get different locking wheelnuts or an additional wheel brace out of them!

I was a bit surprised to hear that, so I had a look at mine. The brace fits both nuts and locking key. Are the locking ones you've got Toyota supplied or aftermarket ones?

Either way, the thing for you to do is get a brace from a standard socket set and carry both of the required sockets. It's easier than carrying two braces. (or buy some Toyota lock nuts ;) )

The locking nuts are toyota ones. Ill have a word next time its in for service.

If you buy an aftermarket extending brace they usually come with two or more different sized sockets to fit the various standard wheel nut/bolt combinations.

Wrap it in a towel or something similar and position it under the spare wheel. It’s not a major issue is it?!

Genuine locking wheel bolts that come with the Aygo BLACK should be 17mm head the same as the other bolts. If you got it from a dealer, they must have fitted non gen lockers for some reason :S

All Aygo bolts are 17mm head from standard.
