Car Running Lean And Engine Response Poor

Hi, This is my first post and really hoping you guys can help me.

when i bought my Celica VVTI 7th Generation 140bhp car over a month ago privately i realized that it wasn't running properly. If you put the accelerator down it take a good second for the engine to respond. its sucking in way too much air and if you put your foot down it just kangaroos and the revs either pause or drop?

I took it to a garage which recons it might be an airflow meter but i dont know.

I reset the ecu last night by unplugging the Battery for half an hour and plugging it back in. i started the car and just left it running for another half hour on idle.

Now if i even touch the pedal it kangaroos which is really bad!

Its as if theres no petrol going in at all.

I've been wondering if resetting the ecu again then when i plug it back in just rag the hell out of it instead of leaving it idle would fix it.

HELP!!!!

It's possible that you've got a blocked fuel filter or got some really bad fuel.

You could always get a mobile tuner to take a look at it, which shouldn't cost much.

What condition are the plugs? Are they white, carbon colour, oily etc?

Thanks for the response.

Checked the fuel injectors etc but wasn't the problemt. Defiately either the sensor or the ECU.

However, as a quick solution I've just sold the car now as I just want a car that works and couldn't afford to repair it :)

(Where theres a will theres a way)
