Hi, my k reg. Previa GL fan-belt is squealing like a pig with it's tail on fire!! it's actually being doing this since i got it but it's really getting on my nerves.

Is this something i could do myself (extremely limited skills!), or a complicated garage job?

Any help or advice is really appreciated, searched forum and unless i got that wrong, yielded nothing for a Previa.

Take Care,

Richard

How hard or easy a job is or is not is all relative to a persons level of experience.

Fan belts are well within the capabilities of the average home mechanic but a bit of knowledge is important. Too lose and they squeel, too tight and they will either snap or worse wear out bearings. My advice to you is spend £25 and buy the Chilton workshop manual for thid car and study the belt section carefully before undertaking the task.

NOW TAKE NOTE: The chilton manual is also available for free online. If you search through my many posts you will see I have listed the link to it on numerous occasions. However having. It in book form is far better for those who wish to delve into home mechanics.

In this case the manual will also help you decide if the belt(s) need replacing.
