Warm Idle Trouble

idles fine when started from cold no prob... i think due to choke been on.....when hot it idles low to the point of stall at times, if givin a rev it improves slightly but returns to poor idle again!! could it be idle control valve??? orcould it be because i have the dump valve open to the atmosphere?? was fine tho.

any help appreciated, cheers

Your problem is likely to be caused by a faulty coolant sensor.

The ECU changes the amount of fuel delivered by the injectors based (in part) on information received from the temperature of the coolant. Obviously the car requires more when the engine is cold (similar to an old fashioned choke) and less as the engine warms up.

However before you start buying new parts etc. do a diagnostic check.

cheers gazza ur some help man few people told me that was the fault il get on to it !! thanki god not a costly job!! the radio cage seems handy too!!! cheers for the help this fourm is the nuts thanks to u and the other guys and the info im gettin
