Toyota Corolla Executive

I was wandering around the Corolla forum, & clicked on Toyota Executive. I transferred to the Camry forum. Why ?

After reading some of the posts there, I wouldn't have one if I was paid to take it. Irrelevant, I know, but I was hoping for a collection of posts about my model.

What is your concern?

I am not sure what you are trying to say - is it the Corolla ‘Executive’ or the Carina ‘Executive’ you dislike?

Personally I find that the Corolla Executive of 1987 to 1992 was actually a very well made car and many still survive.

Incidentally the Carina II was an extremely reliable car (the odd oil leak and sticking sunroofs are the only ‘common’ problems I seem to remember them suffering from!).

If there are any questions you have about Corolla Executive (AE90/EE90 model code) I will be most happy to try and help.

Hm, what are Corolla Executive and Carina Executive? Trim levels of those models are are they more than that?

I'd always assumed the Executive section was for a different model completely, and perhaps those cars that are imported with Toyota badges, but which would have had Lexus badges had they been sold by UK dealers.

'EXECUTIVE' was a Badge designation on certain Toyotas in the 80's and early 90's -Corolla, Carina and (I think!) Camry.

In 'rank' it was above 'GL' but below the sports model (if a sports model was in range at time).

Although below the sports model you usually find that the paint finish was better quailty thus the 'executive' tends to be the one that survives the best bodily; plus the average 'executive owner' was the sort of buyer who would perhaps cherish the car when new (not thrash the living daylights out of it - unlike say a GTi owner ! ? )

No Problem :D I have a Corolla Executive GL & wouldn't swop it for anything. See Topic " Anyone Else Have The Same Model Corolla? "

I clicked on the options @ the very bottom of the postings & selected Toyota Executive, thinking I would get a selection of posts about my model & ended up in the Camry section. Wondered why

Don't think so , but could be wrong.

Chassis No. JTILOAE92 etc. Engine No. 4A8512438

See post in this section Anyone Else Have The Same Model Corolla? I think it has gone back to page 3 by now. Loads of useful info there re Corolla engines & when being used.

As the original poster said, they are a fairly rare bird. I'm on my 2nd now.

When? I win the Lootery (genuine mistype, too good to erase :yahoo: ) I'll buy them all & give them a good home. Still to be found on E-Bay, but not as often as they were, naturally.
