Hi, just finished day long test drive of Verso 2.2 D, very impressed but have a few issues which hope you guys can help me with before I buy. First there was a strong plastic / material smell in front cabin and rear most seats, Toyota garage say it's where they valet it each week, but want to check your experiences as can't put up with a smelly car long term. Second looking to get the Spirit spec as kids want DVD screens, but apparanetly they only come with 2 headphones can you get other headphones from dixons etc and any comments on the DVD screens quality / view angles . Thanks for any help , comments AMANDA

I don't know about the plastic smell - mines got leather but soon lost the smell of that.

I got an extra set of headphones on eBay & they've been fine, also I've never had any complaints about the clarity or visibility of the screens from any of my three, regardless of whether they are sitting in the middle or back row, and belive me they're not backward when it comes to complaining. :(

Cheers for response and good to know i'm not the only one with fussy kids! Will probably go ahead with order , but if anyone else can help with cabin smell issue then greatly appreciated.

Our 07 2.2 D4D SR Verso had a bit of a 'stale baby sick niff' when we collected it too. I asked the garage when I collected the car and they said that it was the "... supaguard used in the car on the upholstery". That stuff was an option that the salesman tried to mug me into, but at £400 it fell off the bottom of the list of optional extras. Had I indeed had that much money spare then I would much rather have had the Protection Pack fitted instead.

I am a bit sceptical myself - and had wondered if the demonstrator had been perhaps smoked in and the smell was introduced to disguise the odour. The 12v cigarette lighter hadn't been used - so still none the wiser!

Funny thing is that I never paid for the supaguard; but the good news is that the smell of 'stale baby honk' does eventually go away :)

Happy Travels
