Should I Buy A New Toyota After This

I have an 55 plate Corolla MMT Diesel that has had the following happen since I bougfht it in October

Alternator replacement

Front brake pads

Clutch actuator and Multimode transmission problems

Rear brake pads

Window seal replacement

Has Toyota quality reduced somewhat over the last few years or is it an isolated case

Do you think this is too many problems to warrant me getting an Auris or is this normal for a Toyota?

What is the difference in the Auris to a Corolla other than looks?

Sounds like you got a bad 'un there.

There will always be the occasional car that has problem after problem but generally speaking Toyota's are usually quite reliable and problem free.

If theses problems have been highlighted then does that mean they will be ironed out in the Auris? How long does it take for service departments to id problems and have manufacturer lines make alterations?

I love my car i know a lot worse can happen but i do feel toyota is dropped slightly in smaller parts, not major problems but the small little things which dont last.

My studs breaking,

My brakes continually wearing out

Occasional noises from back suspension

when you sit in the car it creaks.

HAS SOME REFINEMENT ISSUES.

Im actually really down about the car at the moment to many problems ....

but if im honest id either change to a compressor because i love em.

or not buy a toyota after probably when insurance isnt such a problem a bmw or something.

I have this creaking noise also when getting in and out of my car, took it to Toyota and it turns out it is the handbrake that is making that noise!

Also have the annoyance of the car squeeking when I get in and out :(

Add that to:

The radio falling out

Squeeky clutch pedal - fixed

Faulty door seals -fixed

Think that's about it for now - not bad though on a car of 60k as all I have had to change is the front tyres twice, backs once and the brake pads all around.

I had a Corolla 54 plate M.M.T Diesel for 12000 miles. It rattled around the gear selector, the m.m.t gearbox had a mind of its own. Jerking, as it slammed into first, a problem solved by sticking it into neutral when coming to a halt. Taking forever to make its mind up whether to select first or second when moving slowly. This left me stranded on a busy junction as cars braked to avoid me. Other numerous niggles from a cracked windsreen on delivery to paint missing on a sill.

My first Toyota so I gave them a second chance and bought my present Corolla 1.6 auto. Great car, nothing to complain about.

Now thinking about an Auris. However, on reading the owners forum, all is not well with the model. Noisy brakes, rattles, screen washer etc and well, well, the M.M.T gearbox is a major problem area.

I think Toyota are losing their way.
