Aftermarket Alloys

Hi,

recently purchased a gen7 in red with 17" team dynamics alloys that were originally issued with the car, however the back two are pretty scuffed...so I went to a local wheel refurb place which has offered me £220 to get all four resprayed.

I thought this sounded quite a lot and cos i might need new wheels in the near future was considering going aftermarket instead and possibly getting these:

I thought the white against red would look pretty good, has anybody else fitted alloys like these? Or should I just go with refurbing the ones I've already got?

£55 a wheel for having them sprayed is about the average. I was quoted £80 a wheel over a year ago for full refurbishment. So I bought new instead.

As long as the wheels have the right fitment, you'll be fine. Though I'd say that you must tell you insurance about the new wheels and depending on your insurance, expect it to possible go up a lot! I got quoted £280 on a renewal with new alloys. So a new insurer was in order!!

Personally, I'm not a fan of White alloys but each to their own. The Team Dynamic alloys are very prone to corrosion and are Diamond Cut so I'd expect a refurb. not to be cheap.

You have an excellent Alloy Wheel Outlet called Wheelworx reasonably close to you at Mansfield, I have used them myself and would recommend you visit their warehouse to see their choice "in the metal". If you ring them, ask for Steve on 01623 412399.

PS There is a Celica Meet at The Royal Oak in Watnall on Sunday 18th May at 12 noon, the last one in March saw around 20 Celica's in attendance.
