Compressor Complex

I'm going to have a look at another CTS compressor.

Was hoping someone might be able to help me with some tips of things to look out for when buying one.

By the way, I am not particularly mechanical so not too complex please!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, then I promise to post pics if I buy it.

Thanks.

make sure lift is engaging properly so you know its being run on high octane fuel

besides that usual knocks n bumps , tyre wear ( inside/ outside) and blue smoke on warm up / over run

service hsitory , receipts etc

Thanks for the info, no specific issues to look out for then other than those connected with the lift.

How obvious is the lift in a compressor? I have driven a straight CTS and that was almost like a turbo kicking in it was so pronounced! I know the compressor's lift is 'smoothed' out slightly but is it still an obvious change in pace?

make sure all the panels line up.. if they dont drive the car at about 30miles an hour and let go of the wheel it should keep the car in the straight line. if dont then there is a possiblity of a accident or just bad tracking...

and any dash light signs that come on which arent normal is always abad sign

check also there is no leaks to the suspension and the rears do have a tendency to leak.
