That Sr Badge.... Again

Firstly, thank you 4afte (regarding where to get the SR badge), the toyota dealer got the Badge for me nooo sweat!!!

So, all I need to do now is stick it on now... right? Nope! The glue that was left by the old Badge which was pinched is all uneven, and... well, a creamy colour (like really really hard chewing gum, which is stuck on like nothing I've ever seen before!) and I don't want to stick the new one on top, because it doesn't seem like it'd be there for long.

I want to clean all the glue off first before I try and stick on the new'un. I've trawled through the forum and found a few solutions, but I don't know which is more effective. Tar remover? White spirits? Nail polish remover? (and so on)

The corolla is red, and I'm planning to t-cut it anyways, but I'm concerned about the paint coming off altogether... which would be a pain in the hole.

So... which is best?? Any advice would be great!!

i use tar remover with no problems - just a bit of elbow grease!

Happy days... Will that ***** up the paint at all? Or will it leave big unsightly spots on the paint? If so, is it a piece of cake to sort....

no marks at all mate - just polish the paint afterwards (obviously not the bit where the Badge is going)
