Went To Buy A Gxi Today

hi all ive had a few toyotas look at my post in new members.

anyway i was going round my local garages to see what cars are about and i see a white corolla gxi for sale on a L reg for £600 had a good look round and had no dents,rust and a miner scratch on the bumper, needs a good clean inside and out. got the keys of the salesman he said it has got full main dealer history ( has 119000 miles) and years mot! thought it was to good to be true :D and it was checked the engine and found out it wasnt the 7a-fe it had a 4a-fe in it the logbook said 1.8 still, said to the salesman about it and he said he didint now about toyotas. so i decided to walk away shame it looked like a nice car :(

Why don't you get R.A.C. to check it out for you? Think how awesome you'll look in the winter with those twin tailpipes smoking B)

not a massive difference to be fair. if you had the log book changed the car wouldnt exist from the insurers point of view and would ask for an engineers report before insuring you............. been down a similar road with a GTE that had a 1600 in it.

Great, so not only have Toyota stopped making quick cars, someones going round converting the old ones.

What next - Battery powered AE86s?

it may have been a cylinder head swap as the 4A-FE and 7A-FE heads are identical, only inlet runners changed over the years.
