Urgent Help With Avensis D4d T3s

Hello guys

I have recently bought a Toyota Avensis D4D T3S which has done 90k miles with full Toyota History. I drove the car back 190 miles and it was perfect but now it seems to go in to limp mode evertime i go over 40 mph. I have changed the EGR valve, i have changed the Maf and i have just bene told that i may need to change the Vacuum valve £215 plus vat.

Now having just sold my Impreza and moved to a Toyota, i did not expect to have these problems and have to cough up so much money to have a normal running car, the car now owes me more than what its worth ;-(

HOWEVER...i am looking for a little advice please

Has anyone else ever had to change this vacuum valve or had any problems with it as the car is over boosting and this is why the car is going in to limp mode?......this was shown on the fault computer

Does anyone know if i can adapt a Vacuum valve from a 2000 avensis to fit my model?

Does anyone know where i can get this part from, BREAKER, SCRAP YARD, SOMEONE BREAKING THIS MODEL?

PLEASE PLEASE help before i blow a gasket and burn the !Removed! thing!

MANY THANKS FOR ANY HELP AND ADVICE :D

Have same car. Have come across problem similar to yours but it was faulty throttle pedal. As to valve it's all guesswork. Just to many sensors, control units can cause this fault. Have you any error codes to go on. I'm certain that someone will point you in right direction, just reading some of other forum users answers to technical questions you can be certain they are mechanics. What is purpose of valve & location in engine bay.

Not sure of codes but the chap who pluged in his computer advised me that the car was over boosting and this is why the car was jumping in to limp mode.

Are you sure it not a dirty throttle body as sometimes it can get some dirty carbon like Sh*t on it.

Have come across this problem in recent months, engine mangement light comes on, goes into limp mode. I've plugged our diagnostic computer in and the codes come back turbo vacuum valve, i then rang good friends who work in the local toyota dealership where I used to work and they told me that the vacuum valve is part of the turbo and the turbo needs to be replaced. £1000 from the dealer but we managed to get one for £700. It appears that this is a common fault with the Avensis D4d.

Hope this helps.

Joe.
