Broken Seat Release

Have 03 plate Avensis Estate. Has anybody ever had problem when clearing back of car, removing cover/netting assembly & folding seats flat. All this for carrying load. Pressed passenger rear side seat & button went straight down into seat. Mechanism all plastic. Can any forum user tell me if you have to purchase whole top 1/2 of rear seat or can you purchase inner seat release mechanism. Anybody, PLEASE. Local dealer suggests top 1/2 of seat renewal. I'm not so sure.

Just found this in a search as the exact problem has just happened to me with my '03 saloon. Same side seat too (passenger).

The button has completely disappeared into the depths of the seat upper.

Does anyone know how to get at the innards of the seat to replace the catch when the seat is stuck in the up position? :(

Picture attached, the lock & button are arrowed and available separately.

Thanks Lee. I'll take a look at the diagram and see what I can figure out. I've already worked out the part numbers (I think) and now need to figure out how to get at the innards of the seat back.
