1985 Corolla Gt Coupe Immaculate

I have just restored a black '85 plate GT coupe with 87K original miles on the clock and it is now immaculate. I am after an accurate valuation for insurance purposes. Any ideas? All that stuff about them all being imports is rubbish - I too have a UK bill of sale.

Hi, I had a similar problem about 2 years ago and have not solved it yet ! Ive got a 84 UK one with low mileage and cant get a realistic quote to. I don't think any insurance company knows there value, Ive sent them pictures of mine from all angles, interior, underneath, engine bay, arches and boot. Then sent pictures of sheds (I mean very bad rotten ones) and what they made on e-bay and still cant get a realistic valuation so if you do please let me know and good luck. Craig.

I to have just spent the last 4 years on and off restoring a black 1985 C plate GT Coupe and have been offered £8000 for it and i said no because its not for sale. Now when you tell your insurance company this is what the value of it is they look at you like you have two heads and then tell you that they havent it on their list of cars they insure so therefore it must be an import! AAAAGGHH! You feel like screaming at them that its not an import and if they would just look in the autotrader you will see what they are changing hands for. In the south of Ireland they have been sold for 13,000 euro which is a lot of money.

I still havnt found a sensible insurance company that i can talk too..........

This is one of the main reasons i sold my E-reg burgundy coupe - mainly because i couldnt risk something happening to it whilst driving (diffing :) ) and in a worse case scenario being involved in an accident only for the insurance company to say its worth a few hundred quid and that's all you're getting...!!!
