Need Throttle Help Please

hiya, i have just bought a MR2 MK1. :D the question i would like to ask is............ The throttle is reeeeeeeely heavy. Is this normal ???? and i meen reeeely heavy !! i have checked the throttle cable is ok and it seems ok. is there any thing i can do to make the throttle more controlable? Also... i have a very slight misfire on constant throttle. just changing the plugs to new ones, to see if that makes a difference. cheers in anticipation of any advise.
