Hi, I'm new here just had my Toyota Corolla T-Sport delivered and i am very impressed so far.

Not had time for much of a drive but i did have a quick one :D was trying to get it past 6000 revs to see what its like when the valves kick in but i was scared i might break it, had a Golf TDI and they dont go past 5000 ! do i just need to go for it and put my foot down ?

Also any common problems i should look out for ? its 03 plate 19000 miles but has just had a new clutch n flywheel  not sure if the person before was a spaz or just ragged it. Got warranty though so all good.

hiya welcome to the club, ive never heard of anyone needing the flywheel replacing. i think they had problems (squeeking) with the clutch in earlier models.

you should have tried the lift to make sure it worked, because if it doesnt then you know something is wrong with it. and dont be scared just make sure you have good control of the car as its a big difference in power in the lower gears.

nothing really to look out for in these cars theyre great :)

I had a new clutch at when i bought mine at 22k, the flywheel wasn't changed and i wish it had been as a worn flywheel can damage the clutch. As Daz says when you hit lift hold on! Also in case you arent aware the engine has to warm for lift to engage.

yeah just wait for the engine to warm up fully, then just go for it, yeah i had diesel before this aswell totally different, just head for a fast road hold tight an put your foot down, there is only one big problem with lift that everyone knows about - IT'S ADDICTIVE!!!!!!!!! HA HA!!

HAVE FUN

I must admit when I first got my Corolla I knew about the lift but it felt weird as it kicks in at 6200rpm, when my previous car, a Yaris T-Sport would have been redlining! Just goes on and on! Oh and yes VERY addictive!

Hi Zoe Chick

welcome to the best club in the world

Don't worry - you won't brake it, as long as it's warm (half way on the temperature dial)

03 plate with 19000 mile - that's a good find - at those miles don't think the previous owner will have ragged it cos' they would have done more than 19000 miles as lift is soooooo addictive

enjoy
