Speedo Plug

It seems there may be a small problem with the Speedo connection to the gearbox on the Rav 4. I have a 2006 (2007 shape) XT4 D4D and would like to anticipate the problem by water proofing the connection myself can anybody tell me the exact location of the plug to the gearbox.

I'm intrigued by your comments. Are you saying there is a speedo issue on a 2006 on RAV? I know the speedo sensor causes problems on a 4.2 on occasions.

In answer to your question, the speed sensors are on each wheel. There is none on the gearbox as the 4.3 can effectively disengage the rear wheels from drive. This means that if both front wheels locked due to unusual adhesion conditions the speed signal would be lost when one or both of the rear wheels were still turning and that would reduce the effectiveness of the stability/AWD system. It needs this information to make accurate comparisons with the yaw rate sensor.

I hope this helps but please share any info you might have on a speedo problem.

Regards
