Recently bought a 2.0 liter auto t-spirit avensis with all the toys. Its on a 04 plate and as only done 20,000 miles by one previous owner, an old boy. When setting off it feels sluggish and when traveling at low speed and you put your foot down it hesitates before the kickdown takes affect. The car is pretty nippy in sports mode.Last week i hired a 2.2 auto vectra with about the same mileage on the clock, this was far quicker than the avensis in normal auto mode but the 0-60 is given faster for the avensis than the vectra in the parkers buyers guide .

No problems showing on the engine management and just had a full service

HAS ANYONE GOT ANY IDEA WHY THIS IS AS IT IS BUGGING ME

Looking at using CATACLEAN to clear the fuel system and cat.

Come to a conclusion that the old boy who owned it previously drove really steady so the engine needs opening up on high revs to blow all the crap through unlike the vectra when it had been hired out people would thrash it and it would be well run in.
