2001 Mister Needs A New Block

Howdy Folks,

My 2001 Mister needs a long block. Wham! No warning! Not even near the redline

A short while before, the air filter housing box blew up...and the computer freaked out. Couldn't decelerate, almost got killed by the side of the interstate in the rush hour.

The dealer cleaned out the throttle but I think shards of plastic were still left in the line.

Dealer won't work with me. Natch.

And my pockets aren't deep enough to go after him.

I do have a mechanic who can rebuild the engine if I can get a reasonably priced (under a grand) block.

My guy is good, works on cop's cars and is a 20 year Toyota vet.

I have gone to all the usual sites for used rebuilds, etc, way too much money.

I am sort of between a rock and the canyon wall, still owe the bank on this mica green, tan rag top, almost mint, spitfire.

Help!!!

Just had a good look at mdklmotors and replacement engine for mine would be £370 +vat...I think thats a jolly good price. Its good to know these things just to be on the safe side lol
