Please Help!

Hello everyone,

This is my first post!! I have just bought a 03 Celica t sport.

It has just started to make a rattle noise from the engine area but only at 2000 rpm. If you hold the engine at 2000 rpm this rattle noise is constant, anything above or below the rattle noise dissapears. The car drives and performs as it should, and the engine sounds really healthy. This is the second gen 7 celica i have owned, the last was not a t sport though but a y reg 190 and i had no problems at all with that one which had 105000 miles on the clock two years ago!

I had this exact problem and it ended up being the catalytic converter housing. make sure the housing is firmly sealed, and if the problem persists it could mean your cat is no longer bound to the housing. hope this helps.

yr problem i believe will b from the manifold heat sheild they have metal damper bushes fitted where it bolts up and over time they break up and rattle like hell bit of a ***** job 2 do but had to do this mysel was drivin me mental
