I OWN A TOYOTA TOWNACE ROYAL LOUNGE 1994 WITH A 3C TURBO 2.2 DIESEL ENGINE, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.

IT IS VERY NOISY COMPARED TO THE OTHER VEHICLES IN TOWN WHICH ARE OF THE SAME MODEL.

ALSO THE FUEL CONSUMPTION IS A HEADACHE IT GIVES ME ABOUT 6-7 KMS PER LITRE OF DIESEL BOTH IN TOWN AND ON LONG DRIVES.

THERE ARE TWO UNITS FOR THE A/C, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE ONE ABOVE THE LEFT TYRE IS RUSTED AND NOT FUNCTIONING WELL. IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE SOME ALTERNATIONS TO ENABLE ONLY THE MAIN UNIT TO SUPPLY THE WHOLE VEHICLE.

PLEASE ADVICE ME ON WHAT I CAN DO TO SOLVE THE ABOVE PROBLEMS ESPECIALLY THE FUEL PROBLEM.

COULD ANYBODY ASSIST ME WITH A OWNERS MANUAL.

Some of the main causes of por fuel consumption are: Long service intervals - in dusty atmospheres the air filter needs to be changed more frequently, about 2,500 km should be OK, change oil and oil filter every 5,000km and fuel filter every 5,000km.

Tyre pressures can also affect fuel consumption. 35 to 38 psi is the best pressure to run on.

Also check colour of the automatic transmission fluid, if it is dark, change it. It should be a nice red colour. Use Dextron II ATF and check level when the engine is running

The service is usually done at 2500 kms and alll the checks are done regularly. BUt am still having the same problem.

Is there any other adjustment to be made.

This is a 3C engine.
