I get about 40-45mpg in the town and 60 on the motorway - I managed to get to Kent & back on half a tank of fuel!

Ideal car for your missus IMO Steve - gets you from a to b in relative comfort and costs next to nothing to run!

Only real issue on the motorway is they arent the quietest of cars, but the fuel economy is akin to a diesel....

hi em

thats great.. she has a pug at the mo and its so uneconomical round town. terrible considering its a 1.1

Would you say its a safe car for a lil one to be in?

My wife loves the aygo a lot.. which i am glad about of course ;)

4 star ncap isn't it. If it had the curtain airbags as standard i think that would make it a 5

My wife uses hers for the daily runabout - trip to work and 2 year old to nursery. She only does low mileage (about 15 a day), but 20 litres of fuel lasts ages. I reckon 45ish mpg and it will happily cruise at motorway speeds.

I've recorded 62mpg & 59mpg on my last 2 tankfuls (v-power) - thats mainly A/B roads & town (keeping below 65mph - as running in). I've had mine about 7 weeks now & it does feel very safe to drive. Also - it is so nippy & very easy to park. Would thoroughly recommend. For what you are paying for a new car, you can't go wrong.

Yeah - as safe as my Yaris was at least - little one should be absolutely fine! Probably easier to get a 5 door for the car seat as although you can turn off the front passenger air bag it's probably not wise to have the baby in the front and the accessibility to the rear on a 3-door isnt that marvellous to be fair.

Will she be wanting to take a pushchair around too? You may find the boot is a little on the small side so unless the buggy collapses right down she might not be able to fit it in the rather compact boot.... maybe best to test drive the car and the boot space!

Re pushchairs - a Quinny Zapp fits in the boot easily.

I'd advise a five door if you have a child seat to fit - much easier access and if you have a seat which is belt fastened having five doors allows you to get it fastened in properly.

I'm amazed how much space the car has. When the passenger seat is set so my daughter can't kick the back of the passenger seat there is still plenty of legroom in the passenger seat. In my Audi A3 with a similar set up my wife feels very close to the windscreen and her legs feel cramped.
