Mr2 Roadster, What To Look Out For?

Thinking about seeking out a high mileage low cost early MR2 Roadster on or around an x plate, for high days and dry days to compliment my Aygo.

Test drove one so far and it had quite a heavy shift action, is this nornal?

Also does the car have a cam belt or chain? if belt when is it due a change?

Is there anything else i should look out for, specific problem areas to check??

Any advice would be much appreciated.....Cheers in advance.

Cam Chain.

My gear shift isn't what I would call heavy.. maybe a little notchy, but deff not heavy (mine is the newer 6 speed though, never drove the 5 speed)
