1999 Mr-s Japanese Import Insurance Uk!

Recently got myself a lovely little mr-s! Absolutely chuffed with it!

Only problem is my insurance with AA won't touch it as its a Japanese Import (been here 4 years wiv 47k on clock!).

I have used confused.com but this brings up Post Office as cheapest (£402) underwritten by norwich union but this is selecting an mr2 roadster import almost identical, when ringing they won't change to mr-s as its not on their list.

Which Insurance company is the cheapest guys for MR-S?

I have license for 15 years, and 9 years NCB protected.

AA wouldnt touch my Mk2 import either, ended up going with Direct and then settled with More Than who cut my yearly quote in half!!!

Shopping around is the best thing to do!

I've tried more and and direct line, both won't touch my mr-s :(

I've had my license under a year. Is there anyone out there that will insure me? I can not understand why it is such a problem. The car is identical to an MR2 2000 plate!
