Guys i need some advice. My 1999 gen 7 celica vvti 140 just failed its MOT on emissions and it looks like the CAT as kicked the bucket (prob from all the oil the car drinks). Mr T has qouted me £786 just for the part :crybaby: Not happy with this i looked on the net and found a site called Online automotive cats.

I found a cat for my car for £200 includind vat and shipping :yahoo: . How can it be so much cheaper ? So my question is, is the part going to be s~@t quality and am i better paying Mr T ?

Cheers

I'd say it should be alright.

The reason why Toyota parts are so much is because, we have to pay for the development of new cars, parts materials etc. Developing a new car costs millions, so they have to get the money back some how.

New tailgate struts will set you back £180 a pair for MR.T! I agree that parts should be cheaper than they are, but appreciate that they'll be more expensive than aftermarket suppliers.

I understand that but over 3 times as much ? With that much profit going into research the toyota F1 team should be kicking ferraris' ***** lol
