Hi, was driving off after dropping my daughter off when i lost all pressure on the brakes and losing brake fluid, topped up but problem just returned immediately.Ground is wet so I can't even see where any leak might be.

Any ideas on what went wrong??

Take your pick but I fear your biggest problem is lack of knowledge. Do yourself a favour and go and buy a Haynes manual for your car and read it. If you don't have the experience to diagnose this simple problem chances are you won't be able to fix it either. Whilst brakes are not complicated they do require an understanding of the system. If you are prepared to learn then it is by no means beyond the capability of the home mechanic. HOWEVER as they are all that lies between the life and death of you and your family members it may be wisest to take the car in and have it fixed if you haven't already done so.

That's a nice answer to a new member!

Very witty

I think not :ffs:

IF you read the post again he is not suggesting that he was going to try to fix it !!! the clue is " any ideas what it may be"

Hi,

Thankfully it was just a badly leaking pipe at the rear drivers side.Took it to kwik-Fit yesterday(very cautiously!!), £50 is the final price(hose/fitting/bleeding). I guessed it could have been above, but not having run a Previa for that long i was wanting to know from more knowledgeble people potential problems and if it could have been anything else so i could anticipate costs and not be given any B/S from a garage.Forewarned being forearmed thing.

Thank-you for ALL the replies :D

Take Care

Wit was not my aim, and if you think I was trying to be witty you clearly don't understand the meaning of the word. I don't believe anyone who does would construe the context of my reply to have contained any such undertones.

The simple fact is that brakes are not to be taken lightly. Whilst clearly there was nothing in the original post to say he was going to try and do the job himself , please point me to any any reference that he was not.

When someone clearly does not understand basic principles of such a critical element there is no point !Removed! footing around. Rather one must either guide that person to gain the requisite knowledge or send them to someone who already has it.

Glad you had the problem fixed, happy driving mate.

Yes I do know what witty means and by describing your remarks as witty I was trying to give you the benefit of doubt and make light of your comments .

I am sure Whityman has appreciated your apology for your terse response and as you so elegantly put it probably had no intention to " !Removed! foot around with the brakes"

Nothing personal to you but I just hate posts that seem to belittle a request for help and I am sure you did not mean it to come across that way
