Does anyone know a way of releasing both the filler and drain plug on the manual trandmission of a non vvti 1.8 GS 1998 ? I also would appreciate it if somone knows the actual size of it, I reckon 25MM, as I'll need to buy a socket to get it off anyway. Is it normal for these to seize on and how easy are they to break trying to get them off? Only outstanding job from a major service I did recently. Thanks folks.

You need a 24mm socket for both.

A standard length 3/4" rachet head should be sufficient. You can't damage them and a new sealing ring won't be required.

Great stuff. Knowing I wouldn't snap the nuts helped and I've replaced the transmission oil.

I'm assuming that the fact that the old oil looked pretty much like the new oil is a good thing.

Again , thanks!
