Boot Foam?

Hi, I recently bought an Avensis T3-X 2003 hatchback via private sale. I always thought the inside of the boot space looked strange, but now I know that there is something missing.

If you lift the carpet to get to the spare wheel there should be 2 large pieces of foam rubber, which run the length of the boot and surround the spare wheel (the right hand side holds the jack handle) For some reason, my Avensis does not have these (the previous owner did have a dog so I presume some destruction took place). I took my car to MrT so he could look, but had to sit down when he told me the price:

£195!

and then as if I wasn't shocked enough, he continued:

"... for the right hand side, and £120 for the left hand side"

I got up from the floor.

I thought £195 for both was extortionate, but over £300 is ridiculous. Has my dealer got the price wrong, and if not, does anyone know where I could get these items at a more reasonable price, other than traipsing round all the breakers yards?

I'm not even sure what these items are actually called, so phoning breakers to ask if they have any is rather difficult.

Any help advice would be gratefully received

To be honest I'd say that a breakers is your best bet. Maybe someone on here can recommend somewhere.

It's worth watching out for cars getting broken on eBay etc too.

Yup, I've been looking on eBay, but most of them are either old shape, saloon or simply miles away. Quite simply, there do not seem to be many about.

I don't know, but presume that the foam shape is different for the hatchback?
