Vibrating Steering Wheel When I Hit 80mph Or Higher

Has anyone any idea of what could cause this issue? When im driving at 80mph or above the steering wheel starts vibrating and handling goes to the dogs.

I have recently got the car tracked and balance so that can't be the problem?

Any suggestions appreciated thanks

Have a good look at the Tyres, it could be that they have uneven tread. I've seen this on a Gen 7 earlier this year with Federal Tyres. Another possible cause is that one or more of your alloys is out of true, this is a common problem on Fondmetal alloys. You could also try having the balancing checked again at a different location.

You say you have had the tracking done but did you also get the camber angles checked ? This is a seperate check to tracking and alot of garages don't have the equipment to do the check.

My other half bounced my gen 7 off the curb (It was her and not me honestly) which gave my bad vibration above 55, got the tracking checked and it was spot on. The guy at the garage told me that gen 7's have adjustable camber angles and although he could not check it, it was worth getting them done. I went to Mr T and sure enough it was out of whack. Got them adjusted and it been smooth driving since. Not sure why it causes vibration tho ????

i had my tyres changed at a garage and had my spare but on to make the types even and they told me that one of my wheels were slightly buckled and my steering wheel shakes at about 80 but the handeling is still great but i am used to a vectra lol

Probably will have to get the tracking done again anyway. Roads here are terrible!!

Will get the mechanic to check the alloys while he is there

It's easy to blame the other half!!!

Never even heard of adjustable chamber angles, will mention it to my mechanic and see what he says.
