Early Lift

Hi Guy's,

I'm a newby on this site, so first of all Hello to all of you.

I have an 04 TS which I bought for the wife and to use as our family car. In order to get used to the car I me and a few mates went to Brands Hatch to do a Novice day. I had a really great time and the car handles really well, the only thing that let it down on the day apart from my driving skills, was waiting for the lift to kick in at 6k rpm.

There was two corners which I always exited at 5k rpm, that wait from 5 to 6k is a long wait on the track. On a long track this will be a great car, but on the short Indy circuit, it suffers a lot. The instructor I had out with me, said that with their elise's, they changed the ECU's to bring the lift lower.

Is there any ecu's that are available to buy that can reduce lift to 5k rpm? I know you can get these for the Honda Civics.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Thank you,

E

I'm aware that there is ECU's you can buy to put it in to a constant sport mode which reduces the Lift to around 5.5k, but not 5k.

I'll see if I can find the link for you when I get back from shopping!

when i spoke to Tony at Fensport they said to replace the whole ECU. they didnt even mention piggy backs and such like which tells me something. they could have sold me a piggy back at the time as i wasnt willing or could afford a new ECU but had the cash for a cheaper alternative. i believe the lotus's use a different ECU? so it can probably be mapped.

i know this guy wants to lower his point of lift so TTE might be able to help him out with this as they done the changes for the compressor

just a guess around 5400rpm as don't always feel the lift come in, hoping this is down to the dipstick blowin out all the time an losing pressure, tryin to sort out new dipstick an then oil change hopefully will feel lift kick all the time then

doubt it - the ECU's cant be remapped. the easy way round is to replace the ECU - but thats expensive. i doubt it would make much difference lowering lift point without doing other mods. it will be set that high for a reason, quite obvious really - they lowered the comps lift point as it was being supplied enough air thanks to the s/c. you can lower the lift point to where you like but there aint much point if the engine isnt drawing enough air in, ie at lower revs
