Hi,

Seems everywhere I go there are Auris SR adverts on the billboards. I cant remember another car being pushed like this one.

Anyone one else notice this, or is it just me?

The advertising works then..........................you are talking about it ;)

Toyota have quite an agressive sales campaign on the Auris SR

Not to mention the fact that they've now got five SRs competing in the Toyota Sprint Series. I should know -- I'm driving one of them for the rest of the season!

You'd think they would have had it in red for that one.

One thing I've noticed in the Radio Times advert is the car seems to sit lower than on the tte springs - bit of artistic licence perhaps.

They did the same with the pre-facelift Corolla T-Sport in the car brochure - mine looked like it was on stilts in comparison until I lowered it.

Toyota will continue to sponsor ITV Movies with RAV models. They will also be the headline sponsor for ITV mystery drama's too! this will expose Toyota to 900 seconds of air time to an audience of 8 million people........I must get out more

Hard times ahead for most industries, and the motor industry could be hit hard, raw materials up, weak dollar, doom and gloom everywhere.....Think I might go home.......

We have the new Auris SR 2.0 D-4D. Haven't seen any billboard advertisements though. The new blue colour is being pushed aswell more than others I think, but we have it in metallic black. Have you noticed how low the cars look on the advertisements? They certainly aren't that low in real life. Still low enough though, looks really smart.

Not to appear too cynical but could all this advertising be because the Auris is not selling very well?

We have two Toyotas. One an 04 t3 Corolla 1.6 Auto Japanese built. The other a 57 plate Auris 2.0 D4D.Difficult to compare the two I know but for my money the Corolla wins hands down seems to be better built more solid and not as gimmicky.

Originally I quite liked the centre console and the high gearstick but now I find it irritating to say the least. To put something down mobile etc you have to reach under the console to find a space. In the corolla lots of storage to hand.

I was thinking of changing our Corolla but another irritating thing toyota have done(to meet emissions limits I believe)is to do away with a fully Automatic gearbox in The Auris.I could only get the highly contentious MMT.

I wonder sometimes if Mr T is trying to drive me into the clutches of Mr Honda.

I think it is not only Toyota. It looks like all Japaneese car makers are pushing really hard with their marketing campaign. The sales is lower that expected in US so they hit Asian and European market. In some EU countries Toyota has even lowered prices significantly. Mazda now is coming to the countries in EU that before was not interested in.
