'95 T-100 Acting Up Sometimes

Hi I am new to this forum. I wasn't sure where to post this as there is not catagory for T100 that I noticed.

My T100 has nearly 140,000 miles on it and has never been into a mechanic for repairs. I would hate to break that record and have to take it in for what is currently going on.

About a 3 months ago, it began a problem where it would not start. Will not turn over. It came on slowly. Where I parked seemed to make a difference. If I parked on a hill, it usually would not start. It is most noticable when it's cold although there have been a few cases where it would not start when hot.

In order to get it to start I "jiggle it" or roll it down to the base of the hill and "work it" for a while. And eventually it would try to start and then a few more tries would do it.

The problem went away for 2 months. I mean entirely went away. Ans since this was happening everytime I go to start it, it was very odd to have it suddenly go away, but it's not the first time the truck would get sick and get better all by itself so I forgot about it. Then the problem came back worse than ever after 2 months and no matter what I do, the thing will only start when it's good and ready, regardless of where I park or what I do. And it usually started after about 5 minutes of working it. One day it would not start for 2 whole days.

I did something I hadn't tried before, I depressed the overdrive button, so that overdrive was OFF. Miraculously the problem was entirely gone for about 45 days. No problems starting after pressing that button and I can turn overdrive back on now and everything and it starts right up with no problem.

By the way all fluids are checked. And it isn't the Battery.

Now the problem is starting to come back again depending on where I park.

Some people say it's the starter and some people say it's the starter motor and they all just throw their hands in the air and say take it in to the dealer after I tell them how the thing cured itself for a while. Of course I would hate to take it in to a dealer and break the tradition of never having taken it in for repairs before.

Has anyone had this similar problem? I am used to fords and dodges that break down all the time and they don't cure themselves. this is pretty new to me. Any ideas on what it could be or how to fix it?

You aren't serious are you?

T100 As in their first full size pickup in the era of the Previa van and the last Supra.

I may have stumbled upon a toyota CAR owners club, but I haven't seen any specific evidence of this. Is there some other site that you know of for their trucks?
