Taking advantage of the Bank Holiday Monday and the sunshine, decided to take a break from uni work and give the old girl a good scrub:

I have seen a lot of your posts and I get that you like the ae101 shape, which is a nice shape corolla, but I think you should be a bit more respectful when making comments about other peoples cars

Thanks, I would have to agree with the lowering springs!

But not sure how much longer I will keep the rolla I might be replacing it in the next few months so I am a bit hesistant in shelling out for anymore upgrades.

The car has done 40,000 motorway in under 2 years!

Not sure whether I am staying with Toyota or not, not much going on that I fancy.

I want a petrol car (fed up of diesel) and I wont be doing all the miles I do in a few months.

I am thinking convertible but no real ideas atm

Same let the insurance come down and its not a problem, im thinking of either a old shape e36 m3 or an e46 330 or something even the newer bmw coupes they look nice consider it if the moneys there and insurance if ok. I got a quote for an e36 m3 quite cheap nearly the same as my corolla but on my corolla im under my sister on the e36 i put it under my dad hence the same price really.

Another car on the cards is a Porsche Boxster (my dads), he wants rid soon so maybe I will buy this off him:

2004, 20,000 miles has leather and hard top, and I am sure I will get it a very low price off him

I am insured on it next friday, it needs a service so I volunteered to take it for him  !

Yeah I can appreciate that and I like the fact that you took an effort to make a reply it makes you a lot more "real" if you know what I mean. When I get a car I wouldn't like it if it was an A.E.101 for example and someone said "Oh, that's a really old banger" even if it is fairly old. I can appreciate that you can see something in the last Corolla that I can't at the moment.

its the 2.7 but the 228 bhp version: (Parker's)

Engine Size 2687 cc

Cylinders 6

0-60 mph 6.2 s

Power Output 228 bhp

Valves 24

Torque 260 Nm 192 lb-ft

Top Speed 157 mph

I have driven it a handful of times but not on the open road.

Coming from a diesel the accelaration is amazing and the handling feels good too. Just got an insurance quote £832 for me (age 21, with 4 years driving, 2 years NCB) under my dads name (56, 19 protected NCB), which is a good price I think.

Can't wait to drive it on Friday, bit of top down action :yahoo:

4 years driving? But the driving age here is 17  What is that the car registered in your dad's name or the policy?

i there 2 different 2.7's? the boxter was quicker off the line but once we we're going.......... the guy in the Boxster looked a bit surprised. 21 with a Boxster - go for it lad

There was a 2.5 boxster (204bhp), then a 2.7 (220bhp) and then the later 2.7 (228bhp), not much in them 0-62 is from 6.7 to 6.2 seconds (manual transmission).

21 with a boxster wouldn't be bad at all :P, I would just have to be sensible for a while when driving it.

Yes I started driving when I was 17 passed my test 3 months after my 17th birthday, passed in Jan 2004, so now 4 years.

The car is registered in my dads name and the policy, same with my rolla at the moment although the rolla is mine.
