Is This The Original Engine? Where To Find The Engine Number?

Hello,

I bought a used Toyota Celica and would like to know if the engine is original, in the chassis it says is a 3S-GE, i have took some photos, where can i see the engine number?

it is on the engine block under the distributor, its quite hard to see with the engine in the car so you may need to use a torch and a mirror

Thanks, i already found it... it matches the documents of the car, but i saw a picture of a engine that looks very similar to mine and it says it's a SS-I and my car is a E-ST-202 BLMVF and that matches the SS-II model, so is my engine a SS-I or SS-II?

So the previous owner changed the engine to a weaker one right?

The engine number is the same that is registered in the documents of the car, i just want to make sure that i don't get any trouble with the police, i'm not worried about engine power.

thats correct the 3s-fe is about 125 bhp whereas the 3s-ge is 180 bhp
