Front Bonnet Cable

Hi, I am a new owner of a MR2 Mk2. The front bonnet cable is very badly frayed, and the bonnet will not lock fully down. Is it possible to fit a Mk1 cable to my vehicle? Thanks for any help. Kind regards, *****

I guess I'm going to have to blame my mum for that one. I could have been christened Osama or Adolf, and I wouldn't have had this problem. Joking aside, has anyone got an answer to my original query?

I'd be surprised if the Mk1 cable would fit, and it'll be even older than the one that frayed, so may not last that long.

Why would you want to do that anyway? Can't you fit a Mk2 cable?
