So my aygo is 5 weeks old now and I've come across my first problem with it. The upholstery on one of the back seats has come adrift, see the photos.

The right seat, showing the problem

I have tried putting it back in but it just refuses to stay there.

Does anyone have any hints on how to fix this myself or is this something that the dealer should have a look at? I would really rather fix this myself if I can.

As you can tell, it's not a big problem but I do want it fixed soon.

Take it back to your dealer.... they should fix it no problem, its hardly general wear and tear after 5 weeks :)

Quite a regular but minor issue with mine too. The fabric edge just rolls back into the groove, and you can do it yourself. Not a lot the garage can do apart from that. Living with it, but saying that , it hasn't happened for a while on mine now, even when we have back seats down for Asda's.

Do you think that it could be glued back into place

The cover should just push/clip back into position. If not take it to the dealers, they will either get it back in or order a brand new cover and fit it - all for free! :)

Dont try and glue it as if it goes wrong you wont get it under warranty with glue all over it.

Mart.

Don't worry, I'm not going to glue it.

It's really tricky to get the plastic bit the material is attached to in the groove in the metal. You have to pull quite hard against the fabric, roll the edge over, try and keep a grip on it and ram it into the groove. Even then it doesn't seem to clip onto anything.

I tried it today and I still haven't fixed it. I'm going to try again tonight when it's a bit cooler.

Do it when it is hot as it will have expanded.

Well I took it to the dealer and they had a look at it. They couldn't get it back in place either.

It looks like a big job, they will either need a new back part of the seat (the metal bit) or a whole new seat back altogether.

I'm on holiday the week after next so they will fix it while I'm gone and won't need the car. Gives them time to see exactly what's wrong with it and figure out how to fix it.

If it needs a new seat back it will be easy enough to fit, just a couple of bolts.

Hardly minor Tibsie, I'd say get it back to the dealers!

Blimey - well seems they are prepared to put the effort in to fix it I guess and worth getting it done or it might just get worse.
