Now that my car is back to normal with its engine replacement and ive done 1000 miles ive just noticed that my exhaust is blowing and i feel like treating it with a stainless steel exhaust. i dont want it to sound chavvy or even mildly loud, i just want something that sounds nice.

Wheres the best place to go and what sort of price am i looking at for the full system

My friends all use powerflow for their cars but as you guys were so helpful with my oil consumption issue i thought id ask for your opinions.

Just to clarify, im not a boy racer but i do appreciate cars.

Thanks in advance guys

I have a TTE (Toyota Team Europe) Stainless Steel dual exit for a 140 up for grabs. It's in good clean condition and being a genuine Toyota part, MAY NOT affect your Insurance premium. Would prefer collection from J26 M1 as P & P would be a pain.

Pics. can be found on tte.de

Ist sensible offer secures :)

Well at the moment im just getting played for a fool.

getting excuses like the person dealing with it has been ill and a cheque of a grand is in the post and the letter of complaint asking for the rest of the money is being dealt with at the moment. Tis pretty !Removed! that its bin drawn on for so long as being fairly young ive not exactly got 1850 to pay while i wait for a refund.

But hey with your help it seems its going in my favour slowly but surely.

I wil let you know as soon as the cheque comes through the door and when the remainder of the cash gets coughed up.

So hows your knowledge on a stainless steel exhaust? every car i've had has had trouble with the exhaust whether it be the downpipe or cat or sumthing like that and im gettin fed up of it so i rekon stainless steel is the way forward. But i really dont wana make it sound any different....or much anyway.

Go to this page mate : http://consumerdirect.gov.uk/contact?regio...button=Continue and write exactly what has happened in response to your letter including dates of phonecalls and letters if you remember them on the form (didnt know whether you'd be West Mids or South West) and they'll tell you what action to take. believe me it'll be quicker than waiting for the dealer as they'll just do nothing and hope you go away.

re: zorst - I've been in exactly the same situation as you on a few cars i've owned, and I've always chickened out on stainless steel for one reason and another so I wouldnt be best advised to say which is the best kind to get. Only thing is perhaps go on a Celica outing (if there are such things) and have a listen to different peoples, failing that actually ring your local Toyota to see what they think. I'm rambling, answer is I dont really know of a quiet stainless steel exhaust sorry :(

possibly a magnaflow http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Pag6V-UI43Q&...feature=related bit louder than the standard exhaust but a lovely sound.

or perhaps a scorpian exhaust ? really any exhaust you buy is going to give you the noise factor but have you considered getting it custom made ? i think topgear.co.uk has branches that does custom exhaust fitting

First of all, thanks guys.

Iceland im awaiting a phonecall from the warranty company today and the company i bought it from regarding the payment in question and it seems to me its nearing a close now. I live in stroud in gloucestershire by the way and yeh a meeting does sound good.

Reaper your right it does sound very nice, my only worry about the loud exhaust is that i know what i think when you hear some tit in a saxo go past setting car alarms off lol i just dont wana be the guy that gets a ****** sign behind his back when he goes past. ive gota admit im hugely tempted. Couldnt find a video for a scorpion exhaust thought unless im being a numpty.

Also just a quick question. What tyre pressure should i use i havent really checked it so i cud do it today if i knew what im meant to get.

my advice is to never believe them when they say they'll call you back, constantly badger them. At all times remaining polite but let them know that you're not going away.

Constantly remind them that under the sale of goods act, they are legally obliged to pay for all remedial work on the engine, and that this is their problem. If they get wishy washy about timescales on getting back to you, I'd write to them and state a request to respond within a reasonable timescale. I always threatened my dealer with the small claims court which seemed to help (at which you would 100% certainly win)

Update us when you can.

Tyre pressure for 205/45/17 is 30 back and 30 front.
