I seem to be losing the illumination the the pointers to the Rev counter and fuel gauge. The price quoted seems to be extraordinarily high to bring back the glow. Any suggestions as to alternate ways to deal with the problem. I wonder whether flouresent paint to the pointers would do the job. Seems a bit bodgey but can't afford the price quoted

This is a common problem with Windoms

next best thing at the moment is to not have the illumination on full wack and burn the needles out even further.

There was a design fault with these.. apparently these gas filled needles were meant to be powered by 12 volts and the dash on full wack was pushing 14 volts instaed burning the needles out real quick.

If you do decide to buy a new speedo unit then i suggest you join our gold scheme and I can save you 15% on this part! Plus all your other parts purchases will be discounted.
