16" Alloys Centre Cap Size?

Hi all,

Ive just bought some 17" wheels for my Auris -

However, they dont have centre caps. They are wheels from a Lexus. The centre bore is 60mm.

My question is - what size is the centre bore on the standard Auris T3 16" alloys?

Im currently in my flat at High Wycombe with the new alloys, but my Auris is at my house in Aberdeen, so I cant check if the Auris centre caps will fit!!!

If anyone knows wether my Auris centre caps will fit 60mm bore lexus alloys, please shout out!!

If not, anyone know where I can get some Toyota branded 60mm centre caps at a good price?

sorry to go off topic but all lexus alloys are the same bolt fittment as the auris?

Not sure, but the following are the same fit as the Auris:

WHEELS ARE 7JX17 PCD 5X114.3 ET45 BORE 60.1

FITMENTS FOR THE FOLLOWING 5 STUD ONLY:-

TOYOTA - SUPRA/TURBO(93+), PICNIC(96+), CAMRY(91+), AVENSIS VERSO (01+), RAV4 (94+), SOARER (97+), PREVIA / LUCINA (94+), MR2 TYPE W2, AURUS (07+), COROLLA VERSO (04+)

LEXUS - IS200/300 (99+), SC300 (92-97), SC430, LS400, GS300

Another question on peoples thoughts for these alloys.....

should I put 215 45 17 tyres or 225 45 17 on them?

I dont plan on lowering the car at the moment, but once the alloys are on, I may have a change of heart!

Recommended fitments,

15" 195/65x15

16" 205/55x16

17" 215/45x17

18" 225/40x18

19" 235/35x19

I would stick to the 215/45x17's personally. If you were to go with the 225/45x17's not only would you be increasing the width of the tyre, you would also increase the height of the tyre....

215x45% = 96.75mm

225x45% = 101.25mm

It may not be much of a difference but if you were to lower the car then a few mm can and does make more of a difference than you might think.

I went for the 215/45/17 in the end. However - Im confused by your statement? If I had fitted 225/45/17 how would that increase the height of the tyre? The 225 surely only refers to the width of the tyre? The 45 is the same and thats the tyre height according to my understanding?

So 45% of a 215 tyre is less tyre wall height than 45% of a 225 Tyre width?
