Hi everyone,just wondering what spec oil to put in my 1990 GTI,also may seem like a dumb

question,does it have timing chain or belt?, if belt what are the replacement intervals? :D

always use 10w/40 Castrol magnetec in mine, its expensive but damn its good,

timing BELT is 5 years or 60k intervals B)

Thanks jay for the info,car only done 32,000 so belts probably got a bit of life left!

Uh No!, as the car is more than 5 years old, it's 60,000 miles or 5 years which ever comes first, even if you've only done 20,000 miles since the last cambelt change in the last 5 years, you still have to replace it.
