I had the money for any induction kit ,but I have been thinking which one for along time and done abit of looking about on othr car forums and stuff and these powertec ones kept popping up with good results.A mate of mine has one in his honda and he loves it .I had a k@n panel filter in the stock box before the change .I didnt have the cold air feed on at the start, and when I put it on there was a difference. The mpg is better and power is better than the standard box.

I cant fault K@N .I just thought I would buy and try and I am happy with the results

The cold air tube came as an offer with the filter,it was free...its only a bit of thick alu tube which stretches out to a meter or so...I have it cable tied down and out the bottom of the car and facing forward...the air just goes straight up it to the filter as i travel forward..a steady flo of fast cold air.I have checked for water travelling up the pipe and it hasnt.

Something strange happened tonight after refueling with Bp ultimate 97 ron..I have been using tescos standard 95 ron for ages and after refueling from an empty tank I drove about a mile and the dash lite up like a christmas tree..VSC..Traction light and engine light all on...I disconected the Battery for a reset and all is well again...

I dont know if the fuel octane change caused this to happen or what but we shall wait and see ,although I heard of these things happening after fitting induction kits before.I had done about 150 miles with the kit on and no lights on...it only happened after changing fuel...

I've been thinking about getting some plumbing work done for my induction kit.

I'm told it has a very beneficial effect.

Instead of dangling a bit of piping down from the engine bay i wanted to get something fitted.

Would a bonnet scoop or a bumper mounted pipe be better???

It's nothing to do with the fuel, it's to do with the Induction kit. It happens if you set it up incorrectly. Mine does it every now and then with the Typhoon.

Easier way of resetting it is to just reset the ECU by taking out the two blue 15 amp fuses in the fuse box near your Battery for 10 seconds. Just annoying having to reset your clock all the time.

i reset my ecu by turing the key to Battery, hold the accelerator pedal down til the ecu light starts flashing (takes bout 40 seconds) then start it up, try that then you won't have to reset your colock.

that doesnt work on T Sports - only on compressors. if you have to keep resetting your ECU would it not make sense to sort the problem out and fit the induction kit correctly ;)

The pipe is over a meter long and does not just dangle...I have it cable tied out the bottom of the engine bay facing forward so it catches the incoming air as I move the air flows straight up it to the cone filter...I am going to get a scoop to put on it as well.

I think Ive sorted the warning lights as well I think I blocked the wrong air pipe...
