Hi guy's, great forum very informative and lots of useful information.

Picked up a new aygo platinum last weekend and must say very happy with it,however having a few issues and just wanted to share.

When we got the car home i went over it with a fine tooth comb and checked all the usual things like oil,coolant,screen wash etc and i also checked the tyre pressures and there was 48 psi in all of them.I obviously adjusted them to the required 32 psi and made a mental note to let the sales guy know and let him tell who he thought needed to be told, he has been brilliant all the way through the buying process to the point that my next car will definitely be bought from him.

The next problem's i found were white marks on the back of the driver and passenger seat's,the cause of which seems to be stress marks from the seat back rails behind the material,but toyota are replacing them both no problem.

They are also going to put the steering wheel straight as its off centre when going straight.The final problem happened last night when driving home and the yellow engine management light came on !!!! so i will be making a phone call this morning to resolve this problem as well.

Now i know that this may seem like quite a catalogue of problems for a new car thats has done less that 100 miles,however i must say that the way i have been dealt with at toyota by the sales team the parts team and the service team is second to non,they always return my calls promptly( a first in any dealings with car dealers of any status,ford,vauxhall,bmw,porsche even ferrari)they just seem to go the extra mile which makes a huge difference even if the car has problems you don't seem to lose confidence as you feel that no matter what the problem is they will sort it quickly and efficiently.

I wasn't going to write this post re the problems but i felt that because the dealer has been so helpful through the buying and after sales process it would make a nice change to air my appreciation rather than my disgust at a dealers treatment.

Regards Paul.

Just a quick update re problems,i went to rrg at 11:00 am this morning and spoke to Daryl and he decided to let me use a brand new aygo blue until all the issues are sorted with our car.This is again another example of the gestures toyota go to to help with any problems and I'm quite sure if i had gone to another brand of dealer i would have been told to ring on monday at 8:30 when the service department would be open.

Welcome to the club and congrat on your new car, sorry to hear about the issues you are having but pleased Mr T is sorting them for you. I agree Toyota sales and helpfulness is excellent!

I am glad you are getting these issues sorted out by the dealership.

However,I feel that the dealership has been lax in its PDI if it let the car go into your possession with these problems.Unfortunately I think this reflects badly on the dealer as your problems should have been sorted out before handing the car over.

After all,in the end it means even more inconvenience for you.I am sure you have better things to do than to be chasing the dealership around and taking your car in-it all takes time,time that could have been spent enjoying a perfect new car.

Yeah, my steering wheel was off centre as well, to the middle of the car. I think there is a guy in Czech Rep who thinks this is the right way to put them on, maybe he is used to left hand drive cars :)

The engine management light is probably a sensor. My Yaris engine warning light came on at 25000 miles and was still on at 100 000 miles, so I went 3 times around the world with it telling me I needed to go to the garage..... hell, it was a toyota, I knew it would not blow.

Yep, the service is good, similar to Mercedes, but cheaper.

Nice to hear of a dealer giving good service, although the snag list should have been sorted before the car went out. It just goes to show we are not all stealers :D;

Kingo :thumbsup:
