Autolocking Car Doors On Start Or Moving Off

Hi,

I wish to enable the doors autolocking feature of my wife's corolla E12 facelift. Is this possible ? Don't know how this works (if it does) in the corolla. Some cars have the feature on starting the car and others immediately on moving off.

Are they considered as safe e.g. will they be released say in case of a an accident?

Thanks.

If you have a Toyota Alarm fitted as standard then i think it is possible to enable this feature.

I have a manual for the alarm somewhere in PDF format.

I can dig it out and email it to you if you like?

I would like to know if this is possible on the Verso. The spec sheet says Auto Locking but after discussing this with the salesman he said this meant it auto locks if you don't open the doors having used the remote to unlock. But I was reading it as the auto locking described above.

On the last car I had (not a Toyota) the car locked as soon as it got to 6mph with the auto lock on.

Thanks

Thanks Norfolk n Chance, for your offer, but no I do not have a standard Toyota Alarm, but a Hornet alarm - checked on the manual and unfortunately no such feature there.

What is interesting is that I do hear a faint "clicking" noise on moving off from a standtill position and I strongly suspect its got to do with this feature. This noise does seem to come from around the doors but it is definitely not autolocking. The sound makes me think this feature should be available but is not being enabled ... :(
