Hi all. My Avensis at cold startup revs at around 1800-1900 rpm. its' an '04 1.8 petrol manual.

I sometimes sound like a learner driver when i dip my clutch in at a junction.

Just wondering what everyone elses is like

Our other car ( a 1.2 corsa) only revs at about 1200 when cold.

Avensis not due for a service for about 8 months.

It just seems a bit high to me

cheers Stu

mine drops after about a mile and when it is warm it is fine. it must just be a trait of the car i presume

Hi,

I have a 1.8 t3x. Mine revs high too. I spoke to the garage after I'd bought the car, and was told its just a trait of the car. She settles nicely when warm, so no worries.
