Hi,

I have just got my 2002 Tsport in storm blue, I am very pleased with it, but I want to install a new exhaust system that is stainless steel and sounds nice but not too expensive, any ideas?

Also an new cone shape air filter I have seen a few on eBay for £50 are they any good do you think?

also lowering springs which ones are recommended?

sorry for a lot of questions but its best to get them all done in one go :)

As regards Springs, go for Eibach Pro Kit or TTE. The TTE (Toyota Team Europe) are available from Toyota Dealerships. Have a Laser Wheel Alignment carried out a few weeks after the Springs have settled. I have TTE's on mine and the ride is still comfortable even with 18" Wheels.

There is a reasonably new S/S TTE Exhaust for a 190/TS (these are manufactured by the Austrian Company Remus) listed for sale today on TOC!. These are only very slightly louder than stock as I have one fitted myself.

The Cone Filters can throw up a CEL, I'd recommend a Panel Filter by K&N or TRD.

If your TS is a pre face lift, find out if the Lift Bolts have been replaced by the upgraded type as this is one of the very few weak points on the 190 Engine.

I got a blitz power Sus induction kit & spec R (i think) backbox a few weeks ago - car sounds lovely, really nice crisp sound - it's quicker at low revs but it has effected the Lift, it struggles when it first kicks in up to about 7000 when it starts to pick up properly.

I'm waiting now to get the ECU remapped or get an Apexi Power FC to sort it out but you might wanna bare this in mind as it aint cheap! :jawdrop:

worth changing just to ensure they aint worn and your getting full effect of lift. £2 for the bolts and £5 for the cam cover gasket. make sure you use a torque wrench as they are torqued very low.......

Could you let me know the supplier of the bolts and the cam cover gasket, also how much should a garage charge for this? I have fairly good mechanical knowledge is there a link to any resources or how to do this?

you need to get the lift bolts of Toyota - i used a blueprint gasket. when you remove the cam cover you will see the bolts on the right handside - sort of between the cams. real clear when you take the cover off. replace and torque to 7.5nm. if you search the forum some spanosh guy posted pics bth its that clear when you take the cover off. i got a printed diagram from the service desk at the Toyota dealer which shows cylinderhead components and gives relevant torque settings. Its worth doing as they probably havent been changed.

I have been on the phone to Toyota and they have no idea what Lfit bolts are? do you know what the part number is? or what Toyota may call them?

part no. for the rubber valve cover gasket is 15338-22010
