Rav4 Quiet Mic Problems

Having asked the question yesterday, if anyone could help me solve the mic problem I was having; (it was sending my voice so quietly people couldn't hear me) I have been lucky enough to have had a reply and following the link I was given, have now remedied the problem!

So if you are experiencing problems with the mic, all you need to do is, hold the info button in whilst you turn the side lights on and off 4 times - strange I know but do it anyway - it brings up a secret menu, and the bottom option is a bluetooth Check Menu icon. Select it and you can increase the send voice volume from the preset 0 to 5! It's that simple, no need to relocate the mic like my garage was intending to do. Hope this helps any of you who are having similar problems. It seems to have sorted mine out and I am truly grateful for the help I received on this site. Thank you! :D

The other way to get into that menu is to press the "display" button, tap the screen top then bottom on the left hand side, then repeat 3 times. It's not quite top and bottom of the screen, it's just below and above the top and bottom "header" and "footer" you get displayed.

Obviously, to exit the menu, power off, or hold the "display" button in for a few seconds.

To be honest I think there were some subtly different menu options appear, when you activate via the sidelight compared with the "display" method, but the bluetooth stuff is available with either.

I have this problem with my 2006 since new, found the menu to fix it on phone calls via BT volume increasing but this does not help voice recognition. Tried to get it resolved on my 10k service with a totally useless garage that failed to even understand the issue, but booked in for tomorrow for it's 20k service somewhere else this time and hope to fix this.
