Just wanted to know am i the only one who is having a bit of trouble in starting their T180. Last year it wouldnt start at all, had a orange light appear on the start button together with an engine management light on the display. No matter how i tried, couldnt start it. Called out the RAC they couldnt start it either. Was put on a low loader and taken to the dealership. They replaced the Ecu and a starter relay. All seemed ok, untill now when the motor would take 4 or 5 presses of the button to get started, which was unusual. But would start first time in the mornings, when the air is cool. Ive since returned to the dealer with this problem, they had the motor over night but are saying their tech guys couldnt find any fault codes. They say it started first time every time......... wierd hey !!.

When I took my Rav4 (134bhp) for its first service, they asked me whether I had any starting problems. I did not, but their is obviously a problem with some models. Ring William A Lewis @ Toyota Shrewsbury

My 56 Rav4 t180 once wouldn't start - my error, as had rolled it a car's length to get to my classic car in my garage. Next time I tried to start it it wouldn't, tried to jump it and still wouldn't, so called the RAC and they did.

Ocassionally when starting it starts irregular - like it's going to cut out, but it doesn't. Never unfold mirrors, start air-con, etc before started as not to bear on Battery without engine running.
