Alternative T Spirit

I am looking at replacing the T Spirit after a fantastic 3 year stint as a company car. :crybaby: Anyone have got any suggestions? I am not too keen to get another Prius right now as it would be just as brilliant as the one I have and would not be any different (look wise etc).  Or shall I keep it and wait for the new model (2009?)?

If, as some have predicted, the it will be possible to charge the new Prius in overnight then it's going to be a much more economical car for that.

AutoExpress say Toyota have been running tests on the existing car with overnight charging in Japan and expect this to be a feature of the new one. A charge from the mains is considerably cheaper than charging the motor from a petrol engine.

According to Parkers, the road tax next year will be £0 and £10 the year after that! More dilema!

I got a Prius Taxi last night for the first time ever. Although I've been watching the Prius since the first model, and have driven a Lexus Hybrid, I've never actually sat in a Prius before except at the motor show.

The driver was really pleased with it, and it was certainly a lot better than the shonky Diesels that this taxi firm normally use. And it was really comfortable and exceptionally quiet at all speeds - better than my Lexus in both respects.

I've so far not been tempted because I don't do very many miles at present. But if I suddenly find myself doing a high mileage I think I'll definitely be taking one for a test drive.

I'm also tempted to wait and see what the new model brings though, because if that's capable of even better economy then it will change from being a marginal proposition for me to being a no-brainer.

Has anyone replaced their Prius V2 with another Prius V2?

Yes  I went from a trick Celica T Sport with TRD, TTE, Bllitz and Injen goodies to a Prius T4, then a Civic Type R GT on 19's and back to a Prius T Spirit.

I miss the Celica's noise and the Type R's handling but I still love the Prius. Quirky drive, loadsd of gadgets (although the Civic was close), great MPG (Civic could be as low as 8 if drining like I stole it), roomy, quiet and not mainstream.

Yes I replaced my 2005 T3 with a T Spirit in March, at the moment I couldn't think of going back to an ordinary car after the Prius, it would seem like taking a step backwards in technology. The 2008 Prius also seems to be quiter than my previous one and seems to handle a little better too ! :yahoo:

Looking forward to the next version
