Clutch Adjustment

Now I know that the MR2 has a hydraulic clutch, can this be adjusted ?

The reason I ask is that since I've had my UK car I had been told that the synchros were worn in 2nd gear and that was the reason for a grinding when selecting 2nd gear both up and down the box......however while giving it some donut action in the snow on the way home last night I slammed the clutch pedal as far down to the floor as it would go......no grinding.......so now I know it ain't the gear box.......Drove to work this morning using the full travel on the clutch and the gearbox is fine.......but there is a lot of travel on the clutch pedal before it hits the floor in the footwell, can this be adjusted ?

And if so anyone know how ? If it were a cable it'd be easy....

Afraid not. Thats the thing with hydraulic clutches they are self adjusting, although on some cars its possible to adjust the pedal height. Haven't checked the 2 for this as so far ' touch wood' no problems with my clutch. If its adjustable you'll need to be on your back under the pedals. The length of the pushrod that operates the master cylinder will be adjustable with a couple of spanners.
